Genus DiprionDiprion pini

This species was noted in the King's Lynn area (bred from larvae) in the early 20th century, with further records (also reared) then from West Harling (1952) and Santon Warren (1965), then a more recent larval record from Catfield in 2017.

There are nine specimens in the Norwich Castle Museum, all dated 6th August 1951 and all from Wymondham. It is presumed these were all reared from a single batch of larvae. (Not clear what the date refers to - perhaps the date of collection of the larvae?)

Neodiprion sertifer has not yet been recorded in Norfolk.
