X. julii was noted as having been found in Norfolk by John Curtis in the 1800s, followed by 20th century records from King's Lynn in 1913 and West Harling Common in 1991. Durrant (2000) noted it as a common species, although there are no specimens within his collection at Norwich museum. The only 21st century record to date was one at Two Mile Bottom (Thetford Forest) on 19th April 2018. This is a very small species, easy to overlook, but could prove to be common in areas with pines and birches.

[Xyela longula]
[No Norfolk records to date, appears restricted to the Scottish Highlands in the UK.]
